Liston Bailey 2 SURVEY AND DATA COLLECTION
There are various methods that can be used in enhancing organization development. The
best way is to first carry out a survey in the organization which will help to identify the issues
that are obstacles in the running of the organization. To identify these issues, it is important for
the organization through the human resources department to carry out surveys among the
employees who will give the information of what needs to be changed to improve current
standards that are adopted by the organization. These surveys are important in that they help to
create favorable working conditions and they therefore ensure favorable working conditions for
the employees. It thus increases the productivity of the organization ensuring high sales and
consequently high revenues.
The target population of the research is the employees that work in all the departments
within an organization. These employees are the one who interact with the customers and have
therefore gathered enough knowledge of what needs to be changed to enhance the quality of
services or the products being offered. The survey should however consider the opinions of a few
employees who will act as a sample and thus will bring up the underlying issues that affect the
productivity of the employees (Alam et al, 2014).
The most appropriate method of conducting the survey would be the use of questionnaires.
The following are some of the questions that were going to be presented to the respondentsemployees, during the process of data collection through questionnaires. 3 SURVEY AND DATA COLLECTION
1. Are you contented working for this organization?

environment in the organization?

4. Kindly give suggestions of what needs to be done to collect the issue identified above to
ensure that all the parties benefit? 5. Identify the major concern issues that need to be evaluated to reduce the rate of employee
resignation from their jobs?
6. What role do you think the employees have to play to contribute in reducing the adverse
effects facing the organization?
7. Kindly, raise any other concern or issue that could be troubling you as an individual? Data collection procedure
The questionnaires developed should be administered to the few selected individuals that
represent the department. The employees should be given enough time that will allow them to
read and understand the problem that is being presented. Their understanding will help to ensure 4 SURVEY AND DATA COLLECTION
that they will provide their most honest response. They should also be given an opportunity to
seek clarification to make them understand the situation better. (Pickard, 2012).
The activity was of great importance as it enabled the management of the organization to
identify the underlying issues that negatively influence performance of employees in the
execution of their duties. The management then identifies the best corrective action that should
be taken to ensure that the existing problems have been solved and they no longer are a threat.
Solving such problems helps to ensure that the employees are contented and work in a happy
conducive environment which enhances high productivity. 5 SURVEY AND DATA COLLECTION
